| AW's Stance on Issues |
|
Armstrong is often asked where he stands on some of the most important issues that our country faces today. The following answers are his words on how he believes about each of these issues. For more notable quotes from Armstrong please go here.
I believe in the life of the child. If my mother did not make the decision she made, I would not be here today. As it was in the beginning and forever shall be, marriage is a sacred relationship between a man and a woman ordained by God.
Corporations need to do more to make sure their employees and families are covered for health and dental benefits. IMMIGRATION We need to make immigration laws consistent and based on the principle that all are created equal, thus what is legal for Cubans should be the same for Europeans, and all other immigrants. Currently our laws are too inconsistent and chaos rules the day. I also believe that English should be America's official language and that immigrants should be expected to speak English before they are able to become citizens. I don't believe in censorship of any kind at any time. I believe in freedom of speech and that the marketplace should decide whether they want to receive the message or not. The media, or the watch dog of our government, holds our leaders accountable and keeps American people informed and it is vital that freedom of speech should never be comprised. It was necessary then, it is necessary now, and it will be necessary for years to come. What is going on in Russia now (terrorist attack at school) is a prime example why we need to fight the monsters and animals who are committing inhumane terrorist attacks against innocent civilians. It is necessary to take pre-emptive strikes that send the message: 'Don't mess with America, we will take you out.' Until more countries take this attitude, we will see more worldwide terrorist attacks. (9/1/04)
No Child Left Behind is the best legislation that has been put forth in the last twenty years to raise the academic standards of inner city and urban schools. There is no secret as to why American black families support No Child Left Behind and vouchers at a rate of 67 percent. Teachers should be paid salaries that are comparable to corporate employees making $50,000 to $75,000 a year. Teachers have a huge influence on our children's' lives and they should be rewarded for such. However, in order to make certain salary bonuses, teachers should have proven results from test scores that kids learn and achieve under their tutelage. I believe in the Capital Gains Tax. I believe in tax cuts for all Americans, especially for entrepreneurs. 80 percent of small business owners - who are the backbone of this country's economy - employ less than 8 people and need these tax breaks to survive. And what is wrong with the wealthy getting tax breaks? They take the risks, they make the sacrifices, they create the jobs, they bear all the responsibilities, and they should be rewarded not punished for what they do. I am not as much as a believer in free trade as I once was. The United States government cannot allow big manufacturing companies to just outsource its work to wherever the cheap labor is. We must take care of our American workers. We are in the fourth world war and it is unlike anything we've seen before. It is the most unsettling thing I've ever seen. But we can win it if we unify globally and act decisively. It is necessary to have a Homeland Security Department to protect the American people from attacks like we are seeing everyday around the world.

you are too cowardly to do so. the republican party forbids you from doing so.
i've always felt sorry for you. you've always had to depend on that "hate" money from the republican party.

I don't know if you listen to the radio show, but I distinctly remember listening to open debate about Rush Limbaugh and the Louisiana justice case. I'm not saying that I agreed with everything that was said, but Armstrong is definitely allowing for open discourse on the subject.

Just because ours has been tampered with to a point that it can barely function, doesn‘t mean it doesn‘t work…
Work gets out sourced simply because it is to expensive to operate in the states. Between the cost of reckless lending/borrowing and the excessive taxation.
If lending was forced back to reason, and taxes were put in check the system would thrive.
The only thing that can or should bear federal tax is imports.
